Internationally renowned within the media industry, Emap have now launched the first 'World Retail Congress' bringing together the worlds leaders within the retail industry. Designed to tackle issues and influence change within the retail industry in emerging markets and leading countries the 'World Retail Congress' required a global platform and supporting 'World retail Awards' website.

A full judging process is also available online with all judges being able to review work, read each others comments and make their own. The brief required Mizu to work closely with the Emap team to realise the extent of development and full requirements.

Working closely with Cause Direct over a 6-month period Mizu has developed this suite of applications which enables a wide range of activities including lesson plans, learning resources and career support either within the classroom or more spectacularly in a day event held across the UK. This event uses the applications to simulate a day in the life of the stock market through a mock trading floor experience.
Mizu has built this application allowing pupils to experience the competitive nature of fund managers within the stock exchange, analyze market news in live simulation broadcast feeds to their trading floor from the TV and radio, read news articles as they are released throughout the day discussing market issues. These feeds help the pupils to make decisions about their funds based on their own interpretation of the information. The applications log all transaction data on computer terminals and all tradings are shared, a direct simulation of the real experience.
The functions of the software suite are fully branded and in line with the supporting website that Mizu has designed and developed.

In association with ELWa, the body responsible for funding all further and higher education activities in Wales, The Pop Factory has developed a ground-breaking digital media based learning programme for young people aged 14-25.
The programme is a blended experience consisting of interactive applications, which engage and transfer information and skills, and hands-on practical activities that motivate and encourage high levels of participation.
Mizu's involvement in the project has been to develop a suite of interactive applications based around TV, Music, Radio and Art that enable the learning content to be delivered and assessed whilst retaining the entertainment factor and the vibe that our clients felt was essential to the success of the programme.
The main application in the project is an isometric representation of a TV studio that allows the user to take a virtual tour of the facility, meeting all the people that are typically involved in a TV production environment. The user finds out about the different roles that people have, how they got into their positions and about the functions that they perform to create TV programmes.
Assessment functionality has been incorporated to evaluate the knowledge gained by the user and this is a key measurement towards the accreditation awarded to those young people that complete the overall Porth Plaza programme.
